This extra day provides an opportunity for you to take up to 3 hands-on three hour classes in one weekend..for FREE! If you would like to attend the Mini Bash Day on Friday, click on the radio button for the class that you would like to attend. If you would like to attend the SoCal Bentley Bash on Saturday, click on the AM class you would like to attend and then the PM class you would like to attend. You are not required to attend both sessions. You may attend both Friday and Saturday, but are not required to. Please do not sign up for more than one duplicated class. For example, Intro to MicroStation 3D on Friday is the exact same class as Intro to MicroStation 3D on Saturday, so do NOT sign up for both or else you will be in the same class twice. Introduction to MicroStation V8i - HANDS-ON (Beginner) with Instructor Tom Lazear This introductory class is for people with some CAD experience who want an overview of MicroStation V8i 2D. It will include an overview of the tools and workflow of MicroStation. Students will learn how to setup new design files, use the tools and settings, modification of elements, and referencing through a series of hands-on exercises. AccuDraw A to Z - HANDS-ON (Beginner) with Instructor Sam Hendrick This session is designed to take you from the basics of AccuDraw all the way to advanced, in both 2D and 3D. You will learn all about keyboard shortcuts and how to apply AccuDraw to all aspects of your MicroStation life. Prerequisite:Fundamental understanding of MicroStation and at least 6 months experience with any CAD software. Intro to MicroStation 3D - HANDS-ON (Intermediate/Advanced) with Instructor Samir Haque This MicroStation class is for users that wish to develop an understanding of the 3D capabilities of MicroStation V8i. This class will give an introduction to navigating/working in a 3D design file, and creating/editing 3D curves, solids, and surfaces in MicroStation. In addition, users will be introduced to Dynamic Views to creating 2D drawings. Prerequisite: Need to have Microstation experience. Rendering and Animation with MicroStation V8i SS3 - HANDS-ON (Intermediate/Advanced) with Instructor Steve Rick This course is designed for the user who wants to get started with Photorealistic Rendering and Simple Animation. This 3 hour hands-on session will focus on basic and advanced rendering settings to get your models looking like they have already been built. We will cover some of the new features of SELECTseries 3 like Populate and Stencil. We will also cover assigning materials, editing materials, environment and light settings. On the animation side we will learn how to create a simple fly through animation, creating a path and discuss the new features in SELECTseries 3. Prerequisite: Should have some MicroStation 3D experience and a working knowledge of Accudraw. InRoads Fundamentals - HANDS-ON (Beginner) with Instructor Volaree Rendon This introductory course covers the fundamentals of working with InRoads V8i. It introduces how InRoads fits into the InRoads Suite of civil engineering products. Subjects introduced include: The InRoads Explorer interface; files used; viewing surfaces and geometry projects; creating profiles and cross sections; and an introduction to templates and the roadway designer. Basic ProjectWise Practices - HANDS-ON (Management, Beginner) with Instructor Mike Lazear This introductory class will help students understand some basic ProjectWise concepts, including what is a Datasource, using the ProjectWise Explorer interface, Reference File Management, Audit Trail, and how to create a basic report. Point Clouds: Scan-to-BIM (All Levels) with Instructor Danny Lazear & Vern Jensen Point Clouds have become a fundamental data type and we want to show you how to make the most of your point clouds. Attendees will get a full scan-to-BIM workflow walk-through starting with a scan done live during the class. From there we will register and export the point cloud using Faro Scene and then use Bentley’s Pointools and MicroStation to edit the point cloud and create your as-built 3D model. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see the entire workflow including the 3D laser scan done live!

"Wrap it Up" MicroStation V8i SS2 - HANDS-ON (Intermediate) with Instructor Steve Rick Designed for MicroStation users and CAD administrators, this hands-on workshop provides an opportunity to experience what to do once the drawings have been created. You'll learn how innovations in MicroStation can help you be more productive and consistent when creating Construction documents. Key topics covered will include seed files, dynamic views 2D and 3D, annotation scale, new enhancements in reference files, assembling sheets, saved views, project explorer, print organizer and much more. SewerGEMS/SewerCAD - HANDS-ON (Beginner) with Instructor Martin Pflanz You will learn Wastewater Collection Systems Modeling and Management through this SewerGEMS/SewerCAD hands-on software course. You will construct a Wastewater Network and perform steady state analysis. You will also learn how to build a model using the software’s Geospatial Data Tools. AECOsim Building Designer V8i (SELECTseries 3) - HANDS-ON (Intermediate) with Instructor Ramir Legacion Learn the basics of Bentley's new integrated, multi-disciplinary, 3D building modeling software built on a common database with a common user interface. Building Designer includes all the functions of MicroStation, Bentley Architecture, Bentley Building Mechanical, Bentley Building Electrical, Structural Modeler, plus Space Planning and Clash Detection, all rolled into one software. AECOsim Building Designer fills the need for BIM modelers such as architects, mechanical consultants, electrical consultants, project managers and owners. Rail Track Fundamentals - HANDS-ON (Beginner) with Instructor Volaree Rendonn This introductory course covers the fundamentals of working with Bentley Rail Track V8i. Subjects introduced include: Project set up, Horizontal geometry, Cant, Turnouts, an introduction to templates and the roadway designer. InRoads: Field to Finish and the BIM World - HANDS-ON (Int/Adv) with Instructor Mark Ditko What is BIM? How can I get it started? What’s important about it? How is it leveraged? Whose responsibility is it? The future has arrived and you are in it. Find out how project data moves from Field to Finish electronically using InRoads, beginning with survey field collection and ending with staking and machine control …and beyond. This session will cover the coding, collection and post-processing of field data and the results that InRoads Survey can produce. Following this, the use of InRoads will be discussed relative to how it is used in the Engineering process. From here, the presentation will cover how InRoads data & the Trimble products can be utilized during construction in Staking and Machine Control. During the presentation there will be an ever-present commentary on the world of BIM and how it relates to your specific zone of activity and involvement. This is a high level session that emphasizes the important elements of this electronic movement of data from field to finish. Certain technical details and ‘nuts and bolts’ will also be covered throughout the session. Advanced ProjectWise Techniques – HANDS-ON (Management, Intermediate/Advanced) with Instructor Bill DiGregorio This ProjectWise class will include advanced demonstrations of how to import documents, with attribution, into ProjectWise, integrate Bentley Transmittal Services with ProjectWise, modify your datasource access control through Excel and create both interactive and scheduled PDFs through the Dynamic Composition Service. Students will have to opportunity to learn from one of Bentley's finest ProjectWise experts and will walk away with information that will greatly help them improve their use of ProjectWise. Bentley Navigator - HANDS-ON (Beginner) with Instructor Danny Lazear This class is an introduction to Bentley Navigator. It covers how to use Bentley Navigator to view and mark-up i-models, including walk through, clash detection, searching, and more. Customizing MicroStation using VBA - HANDS-ON (Intermediate/Advanced) with Instructor Mike Lazear MicroStation has a wealth of great features that allow users to create any type of design. By using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) these features can be combined so that repetitive tasks can be automated. In this class you will learn how to record and playback macros, the basics of using the VBA editor, and how to do simple editing to make your macros interactive. Prerequisite:Need to have MicroStation experience. Helpful to have some programming experience or at least an understanding of variables.

Users will navigate and work in a 3D design file, create and edit 3D curves, solids and surfaces in MicroStation, create parametric 3D models and develop a basic knowledge of the rendering capabilities of MicroStation. In addition, users will learn how to take their 3D data and apply Dynamic Views to create 2D drawings.
